Managing the mikebonnett.com photo album has become more difficult over the past year or two because of the hard drive space limitations on the web server. In fact, just the other day, the hard drive partition that holds all of the images ran out of disk space.
Luckily there was another partition with free space, and I was able to move the images there. Even though catastrophe was avoided this time, this incident forced me to reconsider how I manage the photo album.
So, after some searching on the Internet I found a great website called phanfare.com. Phanfare offers paid image hosting services. The service includes unlimited photo storage space and Phanfare provides a Windows application to manage the look and feel of your photo albums. After playing with the Phanfare free-trial application software for a couple of hours, I decided to go ahead any pony up the money to but a one year subscription.
So, moving forward all future digital camera images posted at mikebonnett.com will hosted by Phanfare. Don’t worry; you’ll still be able to access the pictures just as you always have by visiting mikebonnett.com. However, if you are interested, you can visit the new photo album directly by visiting: album.mikebonnett.com. Be sure to check out the “slideshow” feature and the “order prints” link.
